URBAN TRADING BLOC
![]()
|
Large urban areas around the world will be left behind economically, unless they conduct business and trade with each other. Industrialized countries are forming regional trading blocs without addressing the growing economic problems of inner city residents.
Many of these cities are in developing nations with vast natural resources and raw materials. A well defined trading bloc will allow cities to become major players in the new global marketplace.
The GCI Urban Trading Bloc connects large cities with existing business and trade infrastructures through entrepreneurs and local community business leaders. Selected cities must established sufficient business and trade ties with the URBAN TRADING BLOC within five years in order to remain a Global Cities members.
